Wet n Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Color Review

Hello loVes!!!

So while at the drug store a few days ago I came across an end cap with new Wet N Wild Fergie products and of course I was super stoked. They had lipsticks, eyeshadow, liners, nail polish, and lip crayons. The lip crayons or colors really appealed to me because they were matte. I am all for an affordable matte lip product and these were only about $3! I picked up 4 of the 8 or 9 shades that were on display. The shades that were on display ranged from Nudes to a Lilac shade, very pretty. The shades I purchased were: Nude Muse, Transcendence, Dj Doll, & The Stand Out. Nude Muse is a true nude shade with some slight very slight brown undertones. Transcendence is more of that 90’s nude/brown shade that is really popular right now, this is/was my favorite shade unfortunately it’s MIA :(. DJ Doll is a pinkish tone with a salmon undertone. The Stand Out is a purple/lilac shade with some blue undertones – if that makes sense. The Stand Out is very out of my comfort zone but it is such a pretty shade that I could not help but to buy it!

All 4 of the shades are very creamy, soft, velvety, and matte but not drying. The first thing that I fell in love with is the packaging at the store. They reminded me of the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm packaging but thinner. I also loved that the shades were right on the packaging – on the  caps. Unfortunately, the shade on the caps are a bit lighter than the actual shade in the tube but it was not a huge difference. I was a bit taken back when I got home and swatched the shades because there were flecks of shimmer, I do not like frosted lip products and was feeling a bit disappointed. To my surprise the flecks of shimmer did not give a frosted look to my lips but gave a hydrating finish. I also love that they did not feel drying like the WnW Matte lipsticks – which does not stop me from getting  903C- these glide on and my lips and make them feel very moisturized.

This particular lip product is not very long wearing but it does have a descent wear time until it has to be re-applied. I love the packaging and the twist up but I don’t like that DJ Doll fell out of the tube :(. As I mentioned above these are very soft and creamy almost too soft – if that makes sense. I feel like I have to be extra careful and not press to hard on them or they will become smushed but I don’t mind :).

Over all in my opinion these are a great buy. There are a variety of shades and the shades I purchased are not chalky or drying but soft, velvety, creamy, and very affordable. If you are in the market for a new matte lip product, which by the way are all the rage right now, you should check out the Wet n Wild Fergie Velvet Matte Lip Colors that are available at Walgreens. I am totally going back and getting more shades and most likely re-purchasing Transcendence!
